  • Overview

  • Known as the “Husky Lite”, the Alaskan Klee Kai is a spitz-type breed that is best described as the Siberian Husky in miniature. At barely 17 inches tall, these spritely pups could easily fit in your lap, but they’d much rather play in the yard with their family.

Like the Husky and other Spitz-type dogs, Alaskan Klee Kais are active, high-energy dogs who do best with active families. Though, unlike its larger cousins, the Alaskan Klee Kai won't be pulling a sled anytime soon. But that doesn't mean Klee Kais aren’t keen athletes - they are lightning fast, and excel at agility competitions, and obedience training.

Due to its speed, and the prey drive inherited from its ancestors, the Alaskan Klee Kai cannot be off a leash when not fenced in. Klee Kai tend to be quite vocal, which may cause issues for apartment families.

Alaskan Klee Kai are high-spirited, happy-go-lucky family dogs who get along with everyone they meet. If you’re looking for a lap dog with the heart of a sled dog, the Alaskan Klee Kai is the puppy for you.
