      Elegant and eye catching, these majestic dogs were named for the mountainous region in southwestern France, where they spent their days historically as sheep guarding dogs. Weighing in at over 100 pounds in adulthood, Great Pyrenees have beautiful, weather resistant coats, V-shaped ears and are consistently pure white in color. These regal companions have calm, sweet dispositions, are loyal and protective by nature, and make great family dogs.
