Teen Living With Cystic Fibrosis Gets Puppy Surprise

This special giving back opportunity began when a mom from Ingleside, Texas named Sara called us about her 15-year-old daughter, Dakota, living with Cystic Fibrosis. As we listened to Sara’s story of coping with Dakota’s illness over the years –countless surgeries, constant testing, endless medications and breathing treatments, it was clear that the least we could do for this family was to gift this deserving teen girl with a furry best friend.

With her mother’s guidance, Dakota settled on a beautiful Pomeranian puppy who would later be name Mila; Dakota loves Pomeranians. Dakota’s mom wanted to make sure Mila was a complete surprise, so the PuppySpot team was careful to communicate only with Sara about Mila’s vet checks and travel.

When Mila arrived at the Corpus Christi airport to meet Dakota and the rest of her loving family, a local news crew was there to capture the magical moment. The surprise went without a hitch! We celebrated in the PuppySpot office as soon as we saw the footage. What a thrilling moment for all involved!
