Havapoo

My two puppies arrived in NV in perfect condition. We adore both of them. The breeder for one of the puppies even called to check on our baby. Puppy Spot, although expensive was worth every cent. Their service was outstanding in every respect. I highly recommend this company

Havapoo Characteristics

Havapoo is a delightfully snuggly designer hybrid, bred through crossing a Havanese and a Poodle. These dogs maintain the best features from the two breeds and are smart, affectionate, playful, and extroverted. They love pleasing their owners and tend to love everyone they meet. The Havapoo is a very small breed and does well living in small spaces or an apartment.

A breed with many names, the Havapoo is also known as a Poovanese, a Havadoodle, or a Havanoodle. Ranging from 8-15 inches at the shoulder and typically weighing between 7-30 pounds, the Havapoo is practically pocket-sized.  These dogs require regular brushing and are often found in black, brown, and white coats. They have intelligent and curious personalities and tend to be comfortable with anyone. Early socialization and obedience training is recommended to ensure a well-behaved companion.

Like other small dogs, the Havapoo can often overestimate its size. They think they can match any big dog that comes along and often try to play with dogs too big or even pick fights. Just be sure to introduce your Havapoo to large dogs under close supervision and be prepared to break up any potential quarrels. They’re super kid-friendly, but make sure children know to be gentle with the small dogs.

Like many dogs crossbred with the Poodle, the Havapoo was originally bred as a safer option for people who are allergic to animals. The Havapoo also tends to avoid some of the hereditary health conditions that both its parents have. Overall, these are playful, delightful pups who will live a long happy life with their families.

How dog-friendly is Montana?

Montana is a great place for dogs, especially in the summer – with gorgeous outdoor space and plenty of room for adventure.

The state ranks pretty consistently in the average range for overall pet-friendliness but has great strengths in animal welfare and dog-friendly attractions.

We reviewed two significant studies that rank all 50 states by pet-friendly factors. The first, by animal advocacy group Pawsafe, ranked Montana as the 34th most pet-friendly state.

The second, by consumer safety review site Safewise, ranked Montana quite low at 45th.

The state scored very well for its animal welfare laws related to abuse, neglect, fighting, or pet care standards. However, because of its harsh winters, and less access to pet services in rural areas, Montana took a hit.

Combining these two studies together put Montana towards the bottom of the list of pet-friendly states.

Fifty-two percent of Montana residents own a dog. This is above the national dog ownership rate of 40%.

What kinds of dogs do Montanans love? According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), the most popular dogs in Montana are Labradors, Retrievers, and Huskies. Great outdoor pups! Other popular breeds include working dogs like Beagles, Basset Hounds, and Collies.
