For centuries, Pekingese dogs were bred as the valued companions of the imperial family of China. Today, the Pekingese breed will greet you with dignity and pride and is fully aware of its powerful lineage. The Pekingese is a truly small dog, standing about 6-9 inches at the shoulder and weighing between 7-14 pounds. Famous for their long flowing black or white coat, the Pekingese is unmistakable for any other breed.
