About coonhounds
Coonhound was originally bred in the United States. Their ancestry can be traced back to the Virginia foxhound and the American foxhound. This breed is well-known as a raccoon hunter, but it is also adept in opossum, mountain lion, deer, and bear hunting. Coonhound is very loyal, passionate, and intelligent. They are also well-known as being a friendly breed; however, they can be reserved with strangers. The training with the Coonhound might be challenging because they were bred to work independently, and they seem to be really headstrong. This breed has a high energy level; they require lots of daily exercise. Coonhound’s size is 24 to 26 inches and weighs 55 to 75 pounds.
