Also known as the "Cowboy Corgi", the Corgi Cattle Dog is an energetic, hardworking, and loyal hybrid. They were developed by crossbreeding the Australian Cattle Dog and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. They can vary in looks depending on which traits a puppy inherits from either parent. Generally, they do inherit the body shape of the Corgi but with slightly longer legs. Their dense coat does shed and requires regular brushing to remove loose fur. Coming from two breeds with strong herding instincts, the Corgi Cattle Dog might even try to herd members of their family, especially children. They can appear aloof when meeting new people so it is important to socialize them from a young age with adults, children, and other pets outside of the household. They do require a lot of daily activity to keep them both mentally and physically stimulated to prevent boredom from setting in. A well-trained and socialized Corgi Cattle Dog makes for an active and loving companion.
