This breed is considered to be Hungarian, although it probably descends from Tibet. This large breed tends to be gentle with his family and young children; however, he is a tough protector. He needs to be supervised when children are playing with him to make sure he doesn’t misunderstand the rough and tumble games. Kuvasz is reserved with strangers and can be aggressive with strange dogs, that’s why the early socialization and training is so important with this breed. Kuvasz has a moderate energy level and requires long daily walks. The average weight of the Kuvasz is 70 to 115 pounds, and the size is about 26 to 30 inches.
