About swedish vallhunds

The heritage of the Swedish Vallhund dates back over 1,200 years ago to the Viking dogs of Sweden. Originally known as the Vikingarnas Hund or Viking Dog, they are related to the Spitz family but were later crossbred with the Corgis during the Viking’s travels to Wales. This is a hard-working and sturdy herding breed that loves to bark and be heard. They’re a charismatic breed that is smart, playful, and has a great sense of humor. The Swedish Vallhund’s friendly demeanor makes them great with kids and other pets, but will have a strong instinct to herd anyone in the home unless trained not to. This breed does well in an active home environment and is not recommended for apartment life.
