Georgia is the 8th most populated state in the United States. With so many humans, it’s not surprising that Georgia is also home to many of man’s best friends. According to PawlicyAdvisor, 37% of the state’s residents own at least one dog.

More importantly, there is much in Georgia for our furry friends to love. The state is home to a wide array of pet-friendly establishments. This includes hundreds of dog parks, plenty of hiking trails, dog-friendly rentals, hotels, and several awesome dog-friendly beaches.

Home to many sunny cities, Georgia is one of the best locations to enjoy the outdoors with your dog. According to the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), Macon, Savannah, and Atlanta are some of the sunniest cities in the country.

With so much sun and pet-friendly locations, Georgia can be an amazing home for any kind of dog. That said, there are a few breeds that are more popular across the state than others.

PuppySpot has reviewed internal data for thousands of puppy sales to determine which dog breeds are the most popular in Georgia. Here’s what we found:

1. Goldendoodle

Goldendoodles are loveable and energetic mixed breed dogs from Golden Retriever and Poodle parents. They are known as a designer breed as they were created to have the best qualities of both their parents. Goldendoodles are athletic, intelligent, and make for great playful family dogs. Whether you live in sunny Savannah or downtown Atlanta, you’ll see plenty of these adorable pups throughout the Peach State.

2. Poodle

Easily recognizable for their luxurious curly hair, Poodles are often considered one of the most intelligent dog breeds.
