  • A relatively new breed, the Boykin Spaniel is a skilled and intelligent hunting dog. This medium-sized spaniel originates in the United States, where it was (and continues to be) used as a hunting dog in the lakes and swamps of South Carolina. The Boykin is typically a rich brown or liver color, and has beautiful amber eyes. The Boykin is also a strong swimmer, a loveable, loyal companion, and a quick learner. They form strong attachments to their owners and excel at anything from therapy to field trials and obedience.
