Maltipoo

Customer service and communication were both great. The puppy arrived in good condition/health with all necessary documents. The first free vet appointment was a plus. And the app helped to keep track of the dog's arrival.

Maltipoo Characteristics

There’s no other way to say it – Maltipoos are the cutest. They are a popular crossbreed of the Maltese and Poodle, which gives them a fuzzy fluffy coat and adorable big eyes. Maltipoos are a smaller dog and shed infrequently. They have high energy levels and require moderate exercise to stay healthy. They are a fun-loving, affectionate breed perfect as companions for new pet owners, young families, and empty nesters.

Fast Facts

  • Energy Moderate
  • Size Small
  • Trainability Accommodating

As a crossbreed between a Maltese and Poodle, Maltipoos can come in a wide variety of colors, including black, gray, red, cream, white, fawn, apricot, chocolate, gold, and even yellow.

Maltipoos are fun-loving dogs with a lot of active energy. They love going for walks, playing games, and generally running around the house. They prefer being indoors with their humans and don’t need a big outdoor space to be happy.

Being companion dogs, Maltipoos need lots of human companionship. They may develop separation anxiety when you leave them alone too long or when they don’t get enough attention.

They're relatively easy to train, but you will need to be patient. Maltipoos are intelligent and learn quickly, yet they can react sensitively to overly-aggressive behavior. Be kind and gentle with all your pups!

A healthy amount of positive reinforcement and treats will help create a smooth training process and a wonderful companion. Being so affectionate makes Maltipoos a perfect choice for new pet owners. They are also popular among empty nesters. They love nothing more than snuggling with you on the couch.

Maltipoos are one of the smaller dog breeds. They can grow to weigh up to 20 pounds and 8 to 14 inches in height. Maltipoos are generally healthy and enjoy a typical lifespan of 10 to 13 years.

How dog-friendly is Washington?

Very!! Washington is consistently ranked quite high in lists of the most pet-friendly states – thanks to its pet-friendly restaurants, parks, and wonderful outdoors scene.

In fact, Safewise ranked Washington as the most pet-friendly state in the country. There are several important factors behind Washington’s rating but the strongest is the high number of pet-friendly rentals. Washington ranks second among all states with 55% of rentals accepting pets.

A similar study from Pawsafe didn’t put Washington in first place, but still ranked them fairly well at 19th of all 50 states. They also placed Washington ninth for animal welfare laws related to abuse, neglect, fighting, or pet care standards.

Is Seattle a good place for pet ownership?

WalletHub analyzed the 100 largest cities in the United States to find the most pet-friendly city. Their research looked at a variety of factors, with their primary focus on pet budget, health and wellness, and outdoor pet-friendly activities.

In the study, Wallethub graded Seattle as the 17th most pet-friendly city. The city performed well for pet health and wellness, and outdoor pet-friendliness, ranking 18th and 11th respectively. Pet care is more expensive in Seattle, so the city ended up in 70th place for pet budget. The study also found Seattle to have the highest number of dog-friendly restaurants per capita.

A study from the Trust for Public Land (TPL) showed that Seattle has the 20th highest number of dog parks per capita, with two dog parks per 100,000 residents.
