The Australian Mountain Doodle is a combination of three popular breeds: the Australian Shepherd, the Bernese Mountain Dog, and the Poodle. Breedings can combine any combination of these breeds but are often Bernedoodle and Aussiedoodle pairings making most litters majority Poodle. The Australian Mountain Doodle is a friendly, affectionate, and devoted designer. They are wonderful family companions that are playful, smart, easy to train, and both kid and pet-friendly.

The Australian Mountain Doodle is a cross between two other composite breeds, a Bernedoodle and an Aussiedoodle.   They can weigh from 10 pounds to over 50 pounds depending on the size class of the parents and have a life expectancy of 14 – 16 years.  Australian Mountain Doodles are generally healthy though do have some inherited disease conditions they can be affected with.  With proper care and yearly vet exams, the majority of Australian Mountain Doodles will live long and healthy lives. Monitor your dog for any physical or behavioral changes, and contact your veterinarian with any concerns.

The Australian Mountain Doodle is a medium to high-energy designer breed that will require frequent walks and will enjoy any outdoor activities like hiking or swimming. Their coat is often thick and plush making it essential that they are adequately brushed every few days to prevent possible matting. Since most Australian Mountain Doodles are more Poodle they typically need to be professionally groomed about every 6-8 weeks.
