Terrier breeds descended from England as far back as the 1500s. The Smooth Fox Terriers were developed to rout outfoxes during hunts. Because of their size, this breed was first registered as Toy Fox Terrier in 1936. This breed is protective of his family, loyal, and very smart. They love their human family and love to get involved in family activities. Toy Fox Terrier makes an excellent watchdog; he will alert you any time when a stranger or guest comes to your door. The energy level of the Toy Fox Terrier may vary. They can be either couch potatoes or live wires. Just like in case of any other dogs, early training and socialization are important for this breed as well. Puppy classes and other socialization opportunities can help them to grow up and to become well-behaved dogs. Such as other toy breeds, Toy Fox Terriers are not the best choices for families with small children because of their tiny and fragile bodies. The size of this breed is about 8 to 11 inches, and it weighs 3 to 7 pounds.
