Arizona has the 14th highest population in the US. With a healthy number of people, it’s not surprising that Arizona is home to many of man’s best friends. According to PawlicyAdvisor, 43% of the state’s residents own at least one dog. This is one of the highest percentages in the country.

Home to many of the nation’s sunniest cities, Arizona is one of the best locations to enjoy the outdoors with your dog. According to NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), 4 of the 10 most sunny cities in the country are in the State of Arizona. Yuma is the sunniest city in the country with 90% of annual sunshine, while Tucson and Phoenix are tied for 4th with 85% sunshine.

Arizona is also home to plenty of pet-friendly establishments. This includes plenty of dog parks, hiking trails, dog-friendly rentals, hotels, and a few awesome dog-friendly beaches.

With so much to offer, Arizona makes a great place to live for any kind of dog. That said, there are some breeds that are more common in the state.
